Effective July 1, 2014, the California Energy Commission adopted changes to the California building Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Parts 1 and 6) that require lighting controls and devices to be certified as properly installed and operational, prior to issuance of occupancy permits. All acceptance test technicians must be employed by an acceptance test employer that provides support as well as quality control.

Applicants must submit a CALCTP-AT Technician or CALCTP-AT Employer application and pay the required fees outlined below. The application process is described in detail in the CALCTP-AT Handbook. Note: A CALCTP-AT Technician (field tester) must perform acceptance tests under a certified CALCTP-AT Employer.
CALCTP-AT Training Course Application and Record Maintenance Fees
The training course Application and Record Maintenance Fee covers the review and approval of application to ensure applicants meets criteria established by the California Energy Commission. The CALCTP-AT courses are offered by 32 independent training centers that may charge a training fee in addition to the application fee. To find a training class call CALCTP at (877) 670-7910. It is the Candidates responsibility to check with the training site prior to the first day of the course regarding a training fee. If there is a fee associated with the course, the Candidate will pay the training site directly.
CALCTP's third-party administrator, ICF, will process payment for fees noted below. All statements will indicate that payment was made to ICF International.

- $950 CALCTP-AT Employer Training Course Application and Record Maintenance Fee for Companies with More than One Office
All refunds for cancellations will be made only if requested in writing two weeks before the training.
Delivery Method and Timing
Confirmation of your payment will be sent within 24 hours of order via email. Upon successful completion and passage of the course, you will receive a certificate and state recognized license good for one year.
